Era beginning/end

Following one of humanity's most devastating wars, the major world governments came together to form an agreement that would prevent any future genocide. As a result, a nearly one-world government was declared, and around 75% of the Earth's land was annexed, in some cases, forcefully. After the successful unification (2023), the world saw an era of peace, the population spiked rapidly during this time, and many rural peoples began assimilating into the globalizing culture. The new government was administrated by an oligarchy of 12, and various senates and regional delegations. Most of the world was divided into 12 "easy" to govern Divisions.
