The Way of Air
The religion of the people of Motrein.
Mythology & Lore
Followers of the Path of Air believe that in the beginning Mamshun the Great Eagle flew alone in the Blue Sky, dreaming aimlessly. He spent epochs in solitary existence before dreaming the Brown Earth into being, which birthed Karnuk the Pale Horse. Enthralled by each other's companionship, their time together spawned all the living beings of the world as an accidental byproduct, not unlike the waste materials produced in smelting ores.
Divine Origins
Due to the nature of the homeland of the people of Motrein, the concept of open sky and open plain was very much a reality and something that was simply accepted. With the ground being exceptionally bad for farming and not being able to raise any kind of crop that would sustain any number of people, horses became incredibly important to the nomadic tribes of the area. As a result, they understandably took on a religious significance. Likewise with the eagles that ruled the skies, always looking down on the land and those that walk upon it.
Cosmological Views
Followers believe in the two worlds - the Brown Earth and the Blue sky - and believe that a living being must be returned to one or other of them upon death. They believe that all life is a journey to this meeting with the gods once again.
Priesthood
There is no formal priesthood for the Way of Spirit, with their position being taken up by wandering soothsayers, shaman and folk magicians who use ritual magic and herbalism to tend to their people.
