Xindra

Xindra was once a thriving city on the island of Xinugh it was the ancient capital of the great Xinugh empire. That reached across the island of Xinugh and many locations on the east coast of the western continent. It was for many a millennium the leading city in the region and the heart of the empire and the the city that everyone envied the city and everyone looked up to it. It started as a small town and gradually built itself up from multiple human tribes. It is believed the city was founded when a four humans from separate tribes came across 5 dragon eggs well out on exploration. They believed this was a sign from the dragon gods that they where superior amongst the land species and they should create a settlement here in the honour. They originally decided to rule together but after time they decided they needed one person above the rest as there was to many 50/50 splits in there decision making After arguments over several days the came up with a ingenious way to decide on who would be King. They put the five eggs on a nest under a wooden platform attached to four pieces of rope and on the count of five they would all pull the rope and the person with the most eggs would be looked upon most by the dragon gods and there for would be king. After 5 nights of tilting the platform one way then the other there was one egg left after all had one each but eventually a crack was heard in the egg and out poked a dragon who flew out and landed on the shoulder of the brother called Sin making the King of Kings. It slowly built up where one family called the Sin Dynasty became dominant dynasty the for half a millennium. During this period many things happened including the invention of gunpowder, paper, fireworks and many advances in shipping and army tech. Over the millenniums many dynasties came and went, as well as multiple areas where added to the cities Empire and a few went. But things took a major downturn during the Donkin Dynasty where various groups improved in there skills and decided to tale advantage of the weakness of the Xinugh empire because of economic and leadership issues. Over the next couple centuries various species and groups rebelled against the government which caused the government to give up the territory or bring troops outer territories to help with the area Which left those areas to fend for themselves or ripe for invasion. In addition certain areas got taken over by other parties with the final embarrassment being the capitulation being put under siege and eventually being Burnt and plunder for all it’s worth. This was the end of the empire as far as everyone was especially as Most of the politicians Where killed or bought there freedom and most other people fled if they weren’t butchered or killed. Over the years and decades to come the city Remained in ruins And felt like a ghost town with only a hand full of herders, farmers and vagrants out of fear of being attacked again from people who didn’t want a the empire to come back again.
But what a lot of people don’t know was the city was being re built undersea by the ocean going species and underground organised by the Gnomes and Dwarfs. It wasn’t until a century on that people started to realise that the city had been slowly rebuilt over the century and people especially the humans and orcs had started to live and build on the surface again, re forming the old city.
