Brook Capricorn

Brook Capricorn is a commander of the elven forces leading the mech army across Atrya, following Ragnar Volaris's acquisition of the throne and the ascendants' growing conflict with the Dithius's. When the party asked for a parlay with her, she agreed, under the condition that they meet within an anti-magic shell and impenetrable dome for both parties' safety.

Attempting to discern her allegiances and discover any secrets Brook may know, Vanessa routered and Detected Thoughts while Ragnar did what he does best - spew bullshit. He claims that he isn't a Ragnar who wants to genocide the elves, that must be another clone, and he begins to weave a story of entering a time machine concocted by elves in his world and coming out in an alternate world - a world whose Ragnar did seek elven genocide. Brook's emotions on Ragnar's claims are primarily skepticism, though at his mention of an elven time machine, a singular word pops into her head - Illudithius. She outwardly proclaims disbelief in Ragnar's story, though her thoughts betray her: reading "the machine actually worked!", and an air of deception.

The pair continue to spar with lies; notably, Ragnar proposes an allyship against the archmage. Brook's thoughts on the archmage betray her positive associations with him, though she outwardly agrees he is a menace to the continent. Ragnar gets her to agree to an armistice, though her thoughts read only of deception and biding her time, and the two parties part ways.

On the way out, whether it was a direct command from Brook or not, her servant robot attempted to kill the trio by submerging them in acid, proclaiming "You shall decorate the halls of Brook’s capitol! You’ll be forever immortalized as the ones who liberated the kingdom so that Brook could sweep in to begin her eternal reign!" Through clever use of Vanessa's proclivity for planar magic, the trio escaped, and agreed that Brook was not an elf to be allied - or trifled - with.
