Several races inhabit "The Fold", from what tribe of people you decide to hail from is up to you. However, each lineage of people comes with their own histories and insights into certain things. A culture that may seem alien to you may also hold the answers you seek. Human Humans are the most prolific lineage throughout the land of Bredth. Establishing Kingdoms large cities and many smaller settlements. They often exhibit hard working and passionate lives, living approximately 80 years. Dwarf Dwarves live to work and craft. Often Gregarious and stubborn they can be hard to get along with especially since they exhibit longer life spans upward of 350 years making it an effort to put in energy on a friendship they know will not last near as long as them. Most dwarves live in a cast society their lineage dictating their chosen profession. Gnome There are very few exclusive Gnome colonies in Bredth. Most Gnomes enjoy travel and solitude. As Gnomes live close to 500 years many Gnomes will put down roots long enough to raise a family and then move on to their next passion on friendly terms with their partner. Leaving some Gnomes to have 5 or 6 generations of offspring, having rarely ever more than one child at a time. Visible lineage signifiers are a large part of gnomish custom and tradition especially when meeting other gnomes. One can never truly be aware of how many brothers or sisters they might have. Goblin Goblins operate in tribes of usually 1 - 2 dozen at a time. Their behavior largely depends on how hungry the goblins are. Goblin tribes that survive off the land are considered expert trappers and root growers, while those that raid, loot and pillage are sought out to destroy. Often peaceful goblin clans are mistaken for their misaligned counterparts. Goblins on average don't live more than about 40 - 50 years. Half Orc After the war between Thoria and Doldenmire many of the remaining orcs ended up mingling among the people of Doldenmire and interbreeding. This has lead to half orcs living among most of the old Doldenmire people who view the half orcs favorably a sign they have not been abandoned by their allies. The Thorian people see the half orcs as something of a mongrel like person and often hold contempt for them. Half orcs typically don't live to see 70 years Half Elf The coastal cities in the land of Bredth often have many persons whos lineages are mixed between human and elf. As many elf and human peoples alike share a passion for city living appreciating art, food, and entertainment of different cultures. As such many of the elven and human peoples have produced offspring that show a wide variety of human and elven features. Half elves can live anywhere from 80 - 600 years, and their life span is something of guess work from person to person. Orc The Grim Legion orcs to the south of Bredth is the most prolific population of orc all through Bredth. The Grim legion is made up of several smaller orc clans that must prove their worth in trade, combat, or craft in order to gain favor with the Grim Legion's Horde Chief in order to be brought into the fold. Orcs usually live to around the age of 65 Elf There are no traditional elven strongholds or bastions in Bredth. Most elven populations are pacific coastal island fairing folk living in beautifully ornate and intricate city structures where they practice a communal way of living and are typically of one mind about most subjects thus their lands are ruled over by an aristocracy. Elves contain the longest lifespans from all their other sentient counterparts of upwards of 1200 years. Handslip (Kalishtar) The gypsies of the Handslip tribe are nomads and merchants. The origins of their people are shrouded in many mysteries and because of their enigmatic and bewildering religious practices they are normally relegated to the outskirts of most towns and certainly major metropolitan areas.
