The Bird-Bird Fruit: Model Songbird

Level 1:

  • Animal Transformation: As an action on your turn, you can transform fully into any Tiny-sized songbird of your choosing(use the Songbird statblock). Any items being worn or carried can be assimilated into the new form. Spells that require somatic components cannot be cast while in this form. While in this form you do not benefit from armor you were wearing prior to transforming. You retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores if they are higher than that of the bird you choose to become. You may use a bonus action to revert to your normal form. When you revert to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before transforming. However, if you revert as a result of dropping to 0 hit points, any excess damage carries over to your normal form. When this happens, you cannot transform fully again for 1d4 hours.
  • Hybrid Form: You may use a bonus action on your turn to transform a single part of your body into that of a songbird(ex. transforming the head into a sparrow's to avoid being hung by the neck, sprouting feathers in place of clothes, taking on a finch's windpipes to whistle a tune, growing a beak to peck someone's eye out, etc.). This feature cannot make wings large enough to fly.
  • Animal Aspect: You gain +1 to your Constitution and Dexterity scores(up to a maximum of 20), and gain proficiency in Perception if you did not already have it. If you did, instead you gain Expertise.
  • Bestial Vitality: Once per long rest, you may use a bonus action on your turn to regain 2d6 hitpoints instantly. When you take a short rest, you gain an extra pool of hit dice equal to your proficiency modifier(does not stack).

Level 2:

  • Improved Animal Transformation: You can now use a bonus action on your turn to fully transform. Your full animal transformation can now be of Small size.
  • Improved Hybrid Form: You may now transform up to 2 parts of your body per turn. Wings created by the Hybrid Form feature(of the proper size category) now allow you to glide up to 120ft. If you are carrying something in your hands or are encumbered, you cannot glide in this way. While you are transformed in this way, you are always treated as though you were under the effect of the feather fall spell.
  • Improved Animal Aspect: Your base movement speeds increase by 10ft. while in your original form, and by 20ft. while in full animal form.
  • Perish Song: You can use an action on your turn to sing a chilling tune, which can unnerve your adversaries. Creatures within 30ft. of you that can hear must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you. You can choose to use your bonus action on subsequent turns to maintain the song, up to a number of rounds equal to your proficiency modifier. While this ability is active, creatures that fail the initial save cannot repeat the save until they leave the radius or the song ends. You may choose a number of creatures within range equal to your proficiency modifier to not be affected by this ability.

Level 3:

  • Advanced Animal Transformation: You can now use a free action on your turn to transform your body in any way you see fit. You may now transform into a Medium sized songbird(use the Giant Songbird statblock). Your larger transformation can carry up to 200lbs on top of your normal carry weight while in flight. You no longer require somatic components to cast spells while in full animal form. You no longer take extra damage from hitting 0 hit points while in full animal form.
  • Advanced Hybrid Form: You can now form wings that are able to fly. You can choose to give yourself a flying speed of 40ft. by transforming your arms into wings. When transformed in this way, you may use your wings as regular arms with hands, but cannot fly and use your hands/wings at the same time.
  • Advanced Animal Aspect: Your Constitution and Dexterity scores increase by 1(up to a maximum of 21). You gain a +3 bonus to any Perception checks you make.
  • Advanced Bestial Vitality: You can make use of Bestial Vitality a number of times a day equal to half your proficiency modifier. You now heal for 4d8 hit points when using Bestial Vitality. When taking a short rest, you now heal for the maximum amount for each hit dice spent. After each rest(short or long) you gain a pool of temporary hit points equal to 3 times your proficiency modifier. This pool of health remains until it is depleted or you take another rest, at which point the pool is refreshed.
  • Advanced Perish Song: The range of your Perish Song abilty increases to 60ft. The save DC for Perish Song increases to 19.
