Drow Goddess of Necromancy and Undeath

What would you give for a second chance?
Kiaransalee is the drow goddess of necromancy and undeath. She represents those unfortunate dead unable to move on due to unfinished business, and offers an opportunity for those wronged to seek retribution. She is the patron of revenants, banshees and other dead things characterised by their lust for vengeance.

Champions of Kiaransalee are consumed by rage, vengeance and undying bitterness.

Kiaransalee’s Favor

Kiaransalee’s favour is given most often to drow, but also extends to surface-dwelling necromancers, cultists and unquiet spirits. She bestows her (sometimes unwanted) gifts unpredictably, but she is particularly fond of blessing those who wish to return from death to slay their murderers.

Kiaransalee’s scions are rare, but should not be taken lightly. Often corrupted by negative and destructive emotions, they are frequently as dangerously volatile as the goddess who fuels their endeavours.
Why did Kiaransalee seek you out as a champion? The following table offers a few suggestions.
d6 Circumstance
1 You were killed by a loved one. You’ve returned to make them pay.
2 You clawed your way out of your own grave to attend to some petty grievance.
3 You have been visited by a dead spirit, which whispered terrible things to you. It controls you now.
4 A criminal murdered someone close to you. Your only wish is to avenge them.
5 You sought out Kiaransalee after being turned aside by your god. She promised you revenge.
6 You fear the endless sleep. Kiaransalee has offered you freedom from the nothingness of death, as long as you do a little something for her in return...

Devotion to Kiaransalee

Following Kiaransalee means death is never the end. As a follower of Kiaransalee, consider the ideals below as alternatives to those suggested for your background.
d6 Ideals
1 Devotion. My devotion to my god is more important to me than what they stand for. (Any)
2 Immortality. Death is a veil, and I have ripped it asunder
3 Destiny. My revenge is destined. It cannot be prevented.
4 Fury. My anger transcends the grave and blots out the stars.
5 Justice. There can be no rest for the wicked.
6 Passion. My emotions tie me to this plane of existence. I am not ready to leave.

Deity Traits

Favoured God: Kiaransalee

Piety 3+ Kiaransalee trait
You gain Inspiration when you interfere in the business of a dead creature or exact revenge/justice on their behalf.

Seance

Piety 10+ Kiaransalee trait
You can cast speak with dead with this trait as a ritual, requiring no material components. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell. This version of the spell can communicate with the dead regardless of how long ago they died, but the longer a creature has been dead the more fragmented and distressed the response is likely to be.

Rest

Piety 25+ Kiaransalee trait
You can see and hear immaterial undead spirits, even if they are on the Border Ethereal.

Chosen of Kiaransalee

Piety 50+ Kiaransalee trait
You can spend an inspiration die to touch a corpse and raise it as a revenant. The dungeon master controls this revenant, which is dictated by its own desires. A creature can only be raised in this way if it has significant unfinished business as defined by the DM. When it completes this business (or after 1 year) whichever is sooner, it crumbles to dust.
