Into the Ohne Licht Citadel

Our adventurers are recruited by the Guild of Exhibition to explore the Ohne Licht Citadel, the seat of an ancient religious order lost since Rapture.

Plot points/Scenes

First, they go to their appointment at the Guild of Expeditions, meeting a tired-looking dwarf woman named Elle de Orebreaker. Upon examining them, their skills, and application, she determines them fit to explore the Ohne Licht Citadel, and writes them a writ to present to the Guild of Shipmasters for passage to Log Hollow. She also informs them that this would be a trial fun if any of them wished to permanently join the Guild(Something that exchanges a tenth of monetary findings for stuff like healthcare for work-related injury, a possible pension, material support, etc. It's like joining a union). Upon completion, they will sign a magical contract ascertaining that they have cleared out the area in question, let them copy any maps they have, and divulge all information they have concerning the site. They gain 30 GP per person, plus a reward of 125 GP per proof of finding the previous adventurers (their signet rings more specifically).   They'll have some interactions within the port, and arrive by the harbourmasters office right by the docks themselves. The Harbourmaster is a crisply dressed elf named Prestimus Oakfinger, who doesn't make much of a fuss about signing the writ and assigning them to the galley Dreamers Passage and her captain, an ageing tortle named Terrace Prattler.   Upon leaving town, they might have a minor encounter on the sea. It's largely random.   Finally, they reach the village of Log Hollow, a surprisingly prosperous place mostly dealing in fishing, farming, and lumber. For people in village, see Sunless Citadel, which will also divulge what the people there know about the Ohne Licht Citadel.   The next part of the adventure simply takes place within the Ohne Licht Citadel as described in The Sunless Citadel. with a few caveats. The Ohne Licht Citadel was, rather than the site for an old dragon cult, the site for the Order of Drachenwelt; an order of chivalry aligned with Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon. Belak the Outcast is in this case the one who brought the Gulthias Tree seed, having been thrown out of a Keep of the Grasping Claw due to the use of "dishonourable" magic. Using his twig blights, intimidation, magic, and loyal hobgoblin officers, he has in the last few years forced a local goblin tribe under his command, using them to tend to his trees and potentially to conquer Log Hollow once he's gathered more strength.   Any statues of Ashardalon are instead dedicated to Bahamut. Before his statue in room 50 lie a few books: Reading the Divine, With Fire and Faith, and, finally, In The Steps of Deus. The first one is a rather dry theoretical on god-aided divination, the second an account of a crusade taken by the Order of Drachenwelt against the Kingdom of Kezhk to the south, and the third one is an introduction to the faith of Deus.

Relations

Neutrals/Bystanders

Elle De Máinneadh - One of a few assistant directors of the Guild of Expeditions, she's a tired, slightly grungy (yet nice) female dwarf of some 37 years with messy red hair in a bun, buttoned shirt with a few unwashed luth stains covered by a large, wool coat.   Prestimus Oakfinger - A well-dressed high elf, tucked in button up with a form-fitting wasitcoat over it, a pair of spectacles on his face and his blonde hair slicked back. He looks to be about his late twenties, but is in elf fashion around 130. He's a good-humoured desk jockey who used to serve in the military in his youth, now preferring the usually calm work of keeping track of ships. First Harbourmaster, there's only one person above him in the guild.   Terrace Prattler - An ageing Tortle of some 70 years, his natural affinity for water has landed him a captainship within just the few months they've had access to the sea. With wrinkled, grayish green skin, plenty of scars, and a flat, wide shell with jagged edges like that of a saw, he can strike a somewhat imposing figure, but he's nice! He also loves kale. Like, it's his favourite food by far.
