The Guilders Revolt

Revolution

A largely political revolt by the dissatisfied upper and middle classes that threw out the old Princes of Ghearas. It was a drawn-out, street-by-street battle, that finally saw the Princes surrender after five months of fighting.

As the middle and upper classes found themselves more and more estranged by the Princes that then ruled, they decided to rise up against those that would seemingly take their rights. With the help of the largely unpaid City Guard and the often starving lower artisan and working classes, they started their revolt in the autumn of 36 AR. The battle was a slow, trudging affair, as the Princes still held the support of the Hidden Spark and of their powerful personal guard, but about five months later the Guilders won, establishing a new constitution and government under the Eleven Stewards.
