Description

Deus Gentis is a profoundly religious province with a diverse populace. Jaheblism dominates, shaping daily life, arts, and traditions. It stands as a haven for devout believers, fostering religious unity and upholding Jaheblist principles. Its history intertwines with the Creation of the first of Flaxes Graces, once a beacon of enlightenment tarnished by corruption and greed. Despite efforts to purge evil, a lingering dark past haunts Deus Gentis. The population, deeply connected to Jaheblism, considers it integral to their identity. Foreign relations, notably with Ursus, are complex due to differing beliefs and ideologies.  

Government

The state and judicial body of Deus Gentis are governed by the tenets of Jaheblism and the supreme authority of the Pope and the Arches of God Flax the Greater. The Pope, who acts as the highest religious and political figure in the province, takes the to him interpreted words of Flax the Greater as law. While Flax the Greater does not reside in the province nor seeks to rule over it directly, his teachings and guidance are considered sacrosanct by the state and judicial body. The laws and policies of Deus Gentis are rooted in Jaheblism, and the judiciary ensures that they are enforced with unwavering adherence to the religious doctrines.  

Defenses

The province's military is a skilled and diverse force, trained for various terrains. Members of a new Golden Order, who conisder themselfs agents of Flax and supervise each garrison, the army specialises mainly paranormal threats. Fortifications are designed to repel both conventional and supernatural attackers, supported by champions and clerics specializing in magical warfare.  

Commerce

The economy of Deus Gentis is driven by the production and trade of books and artifacts. The province is renowned for its rich heritage of religious texts, ancient manuscripts, and sacred artifacts that are highly sought after by scholars, collectors, and pilgrims alike. The province is home to numerous libraries, scriptoria, and workshops where scribes, illuminators, and craftsmen meticulously create and preserve these valuable items. The trade of books and artifacts is tightly regulated by the state and the religious authorities to ensure that the sanctity and purity of the Jaheblist faith are maintained.  

History

Deus Gentis has a complex history that is intertwined with the rise and fall of the Golden Order. It was once one of the first Arch Graces Domains, a beacon of enlightenment and spiritual guidance. However, over time, corruption seeped in, and the Pope and his Cardenals of Deus Gentis succumbed to greed and the thirst for power. This fall from grace led to a dark era in the province's history, as the corruption spread and tainted the hearts and minds of its people. Though efforts were made to purge the province of the evil influences, the history of Deus Gentis is believed to be cursed, with remnants of its dark past still lingering in the higher echelons of power.  

Religion

Jaheblism is the dominant religion in Deus Gentis, with most of the population adhering to the teachings of Flax the Greater and his Graces. The people of Deus Gentis strongly believe in the divinity and authority of Flax the Greater and his Arch Graces, and their religious convictions shape their moral and ethical values. Jaheblism is deeply ingrained in the culture, traditions, and governance of Deus Gentis, and those who do not follow the faith are considered outsiders and often face social ostracism.  

Law And Order

The judicial system reflects the province’s multicultural makeup, with representatives from major races addressing legal disputes. Laws incorporate various customs but are fundamentally rooted in Jaheblism principles. Despite its theocratic culture, the judiciary is known for fairness, striving to maintain order. The military also plays a key role in enforcing laws and swiftly handling both mortal and supernatural threats.
