Intercession of Saints
Clergy of the Ouranic Church (and others) may attempt to invoke the assistance of Ouranic Saints to achieve certain miracles related to the saint's area of patronage.
A character wishing to invoke a saint's assistance rolls 1d20 against a Target Number of 15 adding his or her Wisdom modifier and any applicable modifiers from the table given below:
Additionally, the following modifiers also apply, but are not cumlative and the highest modifier is taken
- Does not possess icon of Saint (-4)
- Possesses icon of Saint
- Possesses icon blessed by cleric (+1)
- Possesses minor relic of Saint (+2)
- Suplicates in presence of major (bodily) relic of the Saint (+4)
On a successful roll, the Saint interceeds with a miracle related to his or her area of patronage. If the roll exceeds 20, the next attempt at supplication to the particular Saint gains a +2 bonus or +4 if a natural 20 is rolled. For clerics, the bonuses are +2/+4/+6. If a request is evil, the prayer fails. The exact nature and effects are left to the GM to decide. A supplication to a particular Saint can be made only once per level.
