Lurica
A form of leather armor that is popular in the former territories of the Rexan Empire, lurica consists of a hardened leather cuirass, a vambrace (manica), skirt, gauntlets, and shinguards. With the notable exception of reconnaissance units, lurica sees limited use by professional soldiers, and is more often used by adventures or town/city militia.
Manufacturing process
Strips of leather are first boiled in wax in order to harden them. These strips are then stretched over molds to shape them while they harden. After they have fully hardened, they are sewn to an undergarment of linen or wool to allow for increased mobility and comfort for the wearer.
