Sypheros: The Paint and Lantern Festival
In the Aeriscan League and other countries influenced by Rexan culture, on the 2nd Nodinum in Iktarus is the annual festival of Sypheros. This cultural event of contests of plays, and light and illusions became tradition from long ago. Prior to written history, all history was passed down via stories, or even play-like recountings with past events being acted out before an audience. The patron deity of this festival is Meana, Muse of History and Writing. The vivid colors of the paint that is splattered on homes at this time and the bright light of the lanterns honor the mother of Meana, Eion, the Goddess of Dawn. This festival is particularly popular with children.
