Agarling
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Agarling are a self-serving race of fungus-based humanoids. Given life by the power of their souls, they are organised through mass communication via the numerous Agarik Progenitors located around their homeland. They are not a hive mind, but are able to reach agreements quickly.
Genetics and Reproduction
Agarlings are spawned from the Agarik Progenitor.
Ecology and Habitats
They have no need for money and their land is vast and shrouded in a thick canopy. Thanks to their fast communication, their land is incredibly difficult to siege and there isn’t much reason to do so either. Because of their secretive lifestyle under their dense jungle, hardly anything is known about them.
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
The Agarling have little contact with the outside world, so are somewhat behind technologically. They make up for this with their elite Souldiers. These fierce warriors are born infrequently from the One Great Agarik Progenitor, endowed with flourishing souls that are strong enough to project into forms of magic. This power can be shaped into weapons, armour, flame, or used to grow and give life to Fungal Golems.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Individually The Agarling are calm and level-headed in nature. What they lack in intelligence is made up for in wisdom. Ships coming to their land are usually always sent away, as they wish to remain unbothered. As a collective they are powerful, and will go to any lengths to secure the well-being of their race. Their numbers are many, and they can survive off little food.
History
Agarlings have been in a long war with their enemies, the Blightborn. The fight was even until very recently, when more and more of the Blightborn began to appear. They are now destroying Mitō at an alarming rate.
