Decaying

Symptoms

The symptoms are similar to ageing, but at a much more rapid pace. The sufferer's body begins to break down, and their mind slows. As it is a magical disease, and magical abilities the sufferer has are greatly diminished and made unpredictable.

Treatment

There is currently no known treatment for decay, although the process is thought to be slower in Attuned Beings, albeit with a sample size of one.

Prognosis

The condition has a 100% fatality rate.

Cultural Reception

Decay is feared by all mortals, and there are grave consequences of its use. In Feau'rel, for example, those who use decay magic have their soul forcibly extracted and slowly broken.
