Public Agenda

The Eastern Explorer Commission was founded by Fiius Toothsay, Royal Admiral of Liilum, as an attempt to find habitable land to the east of Natimus. Fiius saw overpopulation as Liilum's biggest existential threat and preffered to claim new land rather than to attempt to invade a neighbouring country.

Assets

Once a year, the EEC sends a fleet of twelve ships to explore Eastwards. They are stocked with plenty of food and water, as well as weaponry in case they encounter a threat.

History

In its first year, the Eastern Explorer Commission sent out two ships to the east. They were crewed with experienced sailors. One member of each crew had a familiar, and both familiars stayed back in Kalbion under close surveillance. This way they could achieve basic communication over vast distances. For the first few days, the familiars acted normally, though they reported that their companions had not made any discoveries. On the fifth day, however, both familiars grew restless and showed initial signs of mental trauma. By the seventh day, the familiars were harming themselves intentionally, and speaking in an unknown language. On the eighth day, one familiar committed suicide and the other died from supposed shock shortly after. The ships never returned.
