Flinünnǵk

In a settlement, the leader is the oldest Seniorem in the settlement, who usually has the title of Elder, as well as. The Seniorem is the oldest in the family, and every Flinünnǵk has one.   For a Flinünnǵk to leave their parents family and become their own Seniorem of their own family, they need to have at least two children themselves, and not be the first born. Parents stay with their first borns for the rest of there lives. If their first born dies before having children, then the parents stay with the second born, and so on. If the first born had children, the parents of the first born will stay with the family as their Seniorem.   If a young Flinünnǵk loses all immediate family members, then they are adopted by the oldest Seniorem in their settlement. They keep their birth last name, and are encouraged to become their own Seniorem to start up their family again.   Flinünnǵk are telepathic and can only communicate telepathically.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A tall, humanoid reptile with two black tortoise-like eyes, which has a third eyelid, but no tear duct. Their nose is two slits in the middle of their face. Their ears are hidden under a scale behind the eyes and just above the jaw, near the back of the head. The Flinünnǵk body is covered in tough scales, and thin scales all over, apart from around the eyes. Females are generally larger.

Genetics and Reproduction

The gestation period for the Flinünnǵk is from thirty days to three years. They can lay fertile eggs up to four years after mating, although fertility reduces significantly after each season. They lay eggs in clutches, usually with two-seven eggs in each. On average Flinünnǵk have around twenty-four children, and having less than ten is very uncommon.

Growth Rate & Stages

They reach maturity at around 15 years, and their breeding ages are usaully between 20-172 years. After 175 years, they start to slow down and experience symptoms of aging.

Ecology and Habitats

Flinünnǵk live and thrive in a tropical rainforest climate, though have been noted to survive unaided in desert temperatures. They prefer hotter temperatures, but can adapt to colour tempertures as long as it isn't below zero.

They are Omnivorous.

Biological Cycle

Flinünnǵk shed their skin over time, they're skin peeling bit-by-bit. When they are young they possess tails, which drop off around the age of 15.

Flinünnǵk social structure is focused on family, with the oldest at the top.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They have good colour vision even though they don’t have blood vessels on the retina. They have a good sense of smell, that they use to smell their food, and kin. They can only hear hearing is okay, but they hear low frequencies better than others. They have strong Psionic powers, that they use to receive information about the environment around them.

Flinünnǵk first names end in C, K, G or Y. Last names end in yon. For example : Táray Orönyon.

Taller Flinünnǵk are seen as more desirable.

Gender Ideals

The Flinünnǵk family group is large with a strong bond, and is led by the Seniorem, no matter the gender. Child rearing is largely handled by the one who didn't lay the eggs.

Relationship Ideals

If their partner dies, they will never be with anyone else again.

Flinünnǵk don't usaully wear clothes, but do when travelling outside their homeland.

They have a short neck, and two long, skinny arms that end in small hands with claws. It has a lithe, sleek torso. It also has two powerful legs and, when young, a delicate tail.
