Meaun Channel
Geography
The Meaun Channel runs between Upper Meau and Lower Meau, separating the sub-continents entirely.
History
The Meaun Channel has been a key naval trade route for centuries, and its ownership is contested by many nations. There have been countless official proposals to build bridges or tunnels to connect Upper and Lower Meau, but these have been rejected every time for either financial or political reasons. In 6210, a small team of spellcasters from Feau'rel began to construct a hidden tunnel under the channel. They were almost through to the other side when a war broke out between Feau'rel and Pedenales. Feau'rel soldiers discovered the tunnel and sought to complete it in an effort to ambush Pedenales. Pedenalesian spies discovered the tunnel and had it charged with explosives. On the day of the attempted ambush the explosives were detonated, killing 4,400 Feau'reli soldiers. Feau'rel surrendered shortly after.
