Tilltail
Basic Information
Dietary Needs and Habits
The tilltail is a predator that mostly consumes small rodents, particularly Furrow hoppers. They get their name from the way they hunt: they lower an appendage at the back of their body as they crawl through the undergrowth. As they move, they 'till' the soil and cause small insects to crawl out of the ground. This swarm of insects attracts the furrow hopper, which arrives at the furrow to feed. The tilltail then retreads its path and ambushes the rodent, poisoning it with the same appendage.
