Gained Features

Across the Skies, there are many abilities, techniques, and gifts that are not granted by traditional dnd classes. Similar to supernatural gifts and boons, these are additional rewards that fall outside of traditional rewards such as treasure. Such features are generally more powerful than boons and come with their own unique gameplay mechanics. Remember that each gained feature is subject to change, as each is experimental. The DM has final say on what a gained feature does and does not do.
A player character may gain a new feature by:

• Learning from an instructor willing to pass along some esoteric knowledge.
• Being infused by powerful magic.
• Dealing with a powerful entity outside of the bounds of being a warlock.

Gained Features List:

Feature: Owlbear Wrestling

A grapple-heavy fighting style developed by watching owlbear cubs spar; you've learned how to trade maneuverability for the ability to leave your opponent on the backfoot. 
Whenever you grapple another character, you must declare you're doing so "owlbear style". Make a normal grapple check. Until the grapple ends, the grappled character has disadvantage on all skill checks, and subtracts half your proficiency bonus from all Saving Throws. Additionally, your movement becomes 0 until the grapple ends. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier. You regain spent uses of this feature at the end of a short rest.

Feature: The First Death

Reanimated by the cruel Black Bracer, you return from the void changed. Upon the first nightfall after your death, assuming you have a body to be reanimated and are still wearing your bracer, you gain the following benefits and penalties:

• You take 1d4+1 Constitution damage.
• Your unarmed attacks deal an additional 1d4 necrotic damage.
• Black veins run along each of your limbs, your skin pales, and your eyes become noticeably bloodshot. While these symptoms can be hidden, if you display them, you have advantage on any Charisma based checks to convince someone that you're suffering from some form of disease.
