Dominic Ashe
While in his early 20s, university student Dominic Ashe became involved in the violent world of European political activism. He became a leader of student protest and dedicated himself to “waking up” society from its complacency. Supervillains and Marxist theory provided potent inspiration.
In 1989, he became the leader of a small, active, and vicious terrorist circle he called “the Overthrow of Western Civilization.” After the fall of the Berlin Wall, his attacks intensified, as he sought to “punish” Eastern Europe for joining with the decadent West, drawing disaffected members from leftist organizations like the Red Brigade to his cause. This behavior attracted Overshadow's attention, and the supervillain decided to become Ashe’s patron.
Running a global terrorist agency has not been easy. While Ashe delights in the small victories and the infamy he has obtained, he is frustrated that he does not seem to be winning his battle with western society. Worse, he has come to realize his patrons in SHADOW are using him (and his dream) for their own, decadent designs. At meetings of the Penumbra, Ashe is dismissed as a fanatic who is irrelevant to the greater plans of SHADOW. However, Ashe is not the fool most of the Penumbra take him for. He is playing a role, and biding his time until he can make a move to either gain independence from SHADOW, or (if he builds his confidence too much) take over the organization.
Ashe is now in his late 40s, though he maintains himself in good physical condition, with (thinning) black hair, dark brown eyes, a pointed beard, and (most notably) a cybernetic right arm, courtesy of an accident that occurred in a clock tower (during the one time UNISON nearly captured him). The few superpowers he possesses are courtesy of that arm and some sub-dermal armor implants.
