Embouchere, LA

Along the Gulf Coast near the state border between Louisiana and Mississippi is the town of Embouchere, one of many in the greater orbit of New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta. For more than a century, the local economy of Embouchere has been based on shrimping and other seafood catches in the lakes, bayous, and gulf, and limited tourism to the surrounding nature preserves and wildlife refuges. Never a wealthy area, Embouchere suffered along with the rest of the Gulf Coast in the wake of the hurricane and oil spill that caused so much damage before heroes like Siren were able to limit their effects.
Embouchere is noteworthy because the town has been a crossroads of criminal activity, both mundane and mystical, and indications are that it is a metaphysical crossroads as well.
