Red Rocks, AZ

On the outskirts of the Painted Desert area of Arizona is the town of Red Rocks, named for the distinctive color of the stone formations around it. Originally a rough-and-tumble frontier town mostly noted for prospectors, rail wars, and gunfights, Red Rocks has become a tourist stop for visitors to the Painted Desert and the area’s other natural wonders, with a mixed Anglo, Latino, and Native American population.
