Riverfront Shipyards

The western Riverfront, from the mid-point of Royal Hill westward, particularly west of the Bay Bridge, is covered with cargo piers and sorting and storage yards for mazelike stacks of cargo containers. Heavy cranes stand high overhead, lifting those containers onto and off of ships docked at the port, and workers sort the containers for loading onto trucks that take them from the Riverfront to their final destination.
