St. Helen of the Blessed Shroud Hospital

Established in the Downtown area during the mid-1800s for the benefit of the city’s immigrant poor, this formerly Catholic Church-run facility still serves the people of Emerald. Though small and geared toward providing basic care, the current administrator Dr. Felix Bennet works diligently to see the services provided are the best possible. Importantly, Dr. Bennet and his staff are well aware of their facility’s limitations, and do not hesitate to transfer patients who require advanced services to ECU Medical Center.
