The South Sea

This one is linked to some sort of tropical ocean realm, complete with a massive whirlpool at its center, so large that its effects are felt throughout the entire Sea. It changes directions twice a year, reversing its spin, which has huge consequences for those who live near it or attempt to trade across it. This sea tends to be more crossable, as its monsters are somewhat smaller, in general. They tend to be more venomous however, and the only way to escape the strange pull of the whirl is to become caught in the unnatural doldrums that move throughout the sea. There are islands in it, some even inhabited, but most people do their best to stay away from them. Trade follows the outermost portions of the sea, along the coast, and can only travel with the flow of the Whirl at the center. Unlike its Northern Brother, this Sea is primarily bounded by land on three of its four "sides" leaving only the northern portion open. The land which surrounds it is all contiguous (for the most part)

Fauna & Flora

Sea serpents, flying fish, and other creatures (real and fanciful) of the tropics inhabit these waters. Sharks are plentiful, as are a creatures that possess some form of venom. There are more societal denizens in this deep, as parts of it are actual live-able (unlike the sea to the north). Creatures like mer-folk, sirens, sea elves, and whatever else you can think of can be found attempting to colonize the ocean floor and avoid the might of the massive whirlpool at its center. Also pirates on the islands scattered throughout.
