Fleet Academy Graduation
Once a year the Fleet Academy Campus becomes full of only positive emotions. That day is the day of the graduation, when a new group of cadets receives their first officer markings and becomes ensigns. It is a day that every cadet looks forward from the start of their education in the academy. The graduation is also important, because it is the moment when a newly graduated officer receives their first posting.
Execution
The graduation ceremony takes place in the Great Hall of the Fleet Academy Campus. The hall is a place of honour where names of the most decorated ECN officers are displayed.
The ceremony usually begins around noon and lasts until the late hours of the evening. Most years there is too many graduates to fit everyone in at once and the ceremony has to be conducted several times for different groups of cadets. Tradition dictates that the first 2 or 3 groups are reserved for the best of the students and the rest is randomly placed in other groups. In theory, every group receives exactly the same ceremony. However, in reality, the further into the day the ceremony is more and more rushed and looses its splendour. The reason for that is simple. People become tired and want to be over with the graduation as fast as possible. Throughout the years there have been voices to limit the ceremony to the best students only while the rest just receives their diplomas and postings from the Academy offices. Such ideas were, however, quickly shot down. For the majority of the people at the Fleet Academy it is unimaginable to have this extremely important event deprived of the ceremony.
