Shimmering vale powder (aka sauce) is a light metalic compound that forms in high crystaline structures in the mountains of Dwantwi. This compound goes through complex organic processing in the didiorm organ of the Doi. This processing forms a dull excretion of vale singature (aka hot sauce) which is organically processed again, this time by a Doliom to create an intense energy burst. For its energy production capabilities shimmering vale powder is the most valuable mineral in the galaxy. It is central to the continued connection of complex civilizations, and may a requirement of continued space travel. The mining, processing, and distribution of shimmering vale powder is of immense interest to all 9 of the worlds and is thought to be a major reason for the creation of The 9.

Material Characteristics

Shimmering vale powder is actually formed by a metalic crystalization process in which several metalic elements are merged. This merging happens deep beneath the crust of Dwantwi and changes the molecular structure to be more expansive. Through this expansion the sauce forms upwards through air pockets in the crust. Because of this shimmering vale powder is usually found in hidden underground caverns. The crystals themselves are very fragile and when disturbed by activity quickly break apart into the powdery gray substance most merchants know it as. The 'shimmering' quality comes from its previously mentioned crystal origins.

It is unclear when sauce was discovered, even the oldest texts from Dwantwi's mythic era mention the existance of a rare powder which when "correctly processed released much energy". However, it seems that while the Doi have utilized the sauce for many millenia it was an extremely rare substance until after the Orphelian wars. From this we can deduce that the Orphelian did not invent shimmering vale powder, but creates vast caverns of the substance. WIthout such power, the vale crystals seem to take billions of earth years to form and would have been quickly used up in space colonization.
