Ace of Wands
The Ace of Wands is a type of Spiritual Tree usually found in the Badlands or Grasslands of The Gates, although it can be found in other locations thanks to propogation by spirits and fae.
This tree was documented by DAN on Nurend 04, 308. It was one of the first species of plant discovered in The Spirit World.
Each species of Wand comes in two forms: Upright or Reversed. DAN discovered the "upright" version of this particular plant which inspired feelings of potential, beginnings, inspiration and unleashed creativity. This manifested, mechanically speaking, as having increased capabilities (advantage) on checks involving harvesting or crafting new things.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Upright Variant - A sapling Wand, growing from the ground and only recently having began to sprout what will eventually become leaves. These leaf buds have colors ranging from red to yellow in a beautiful, fiery gradient. Despite the current season (mid Autumn), the leaves had yet to even begin falling off the leaves when DAN found it.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Ace of Wands very rarely grows past the sapling stage unless additional Wands begin growing around it or it is relocated closer to other Wands. It maintains the leaf buds throughout all seasons, and these leaf buds never grow into full leaves.
Ecology and Habitats
Wands, especially the Ace of Wands, tend to favor the Badlands. That being said, DAN first encountered the plant in the nearby forest after the Spiritual Travelers first arrived in the Spirit World. The root structure and general anatomy of the plant, however, suggested that it most likely does not usually grow in this area.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Like other Wands, the Ace of Wands feeds off of the spiritual energy that is drawn forth from nearby creatures.
This particular Wand tends to bring about feelings of inspiration, creativity being unleashed, new beginnings, and potential. The Spiritual Travelers noted the feeling that they might be better at crafting or harvesting things that they have never crafted or harvested before, suggesting new activities might be favorable while around this plant.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The Ace of Wands could have its oils pressed/processed from it through some method which could then be used by Apothacarists, Culinarians or Occultists for their crafts. It could also be boiled down to make an infusion or decoction which could either be drank straight to receive some benefit or, again, utilized in cooking or incense making of some kind.
