Anatomist

The anatomist is responsible for cataloguing the species of animals that they discover during their journey through the Spirit World. This involves dissecting animals to record their internal workings and notating what "pieces" are useable as food, medicine, clothing/armor or fashioned into other items.

Perception

Purpose

Most anatomists do what they do for a purely academic reason, learning what's inside an animal, how it works, and what they learn can then be applied to other fields. There are some anatomists that go into a more practical approach like surgeons, coroners, or even butchers. The knowledge that is gathered can be used by all manner of profession.

Operations

Tools

Anatomist tools include a scalpel, saws, bags, dishes, and chemicals.

Provided Services

Anatomists provide services such as anatomical knowledge of animals, knowledge of animal weaknesses and strengths, finding usable pieces of animals for various purposes, and harvesting animal parts and fluids such as skin, fur, bones, meat, organs, poisons, blood and so on.
Harvest
An anatomist's most common ability is delicating removing the internal workings of animals without damaging them in order to be used for further research and notes. On the road with an expedition, an anatomist might act as a butcher, or by removing certain parts from certain animals they could help build items.   Additionally, an anatomist's expertise helps harvest poisons for use in more poisons or antitoxins. Some animal organs are surrounded in a special fat that can also be used to create specialty candles.   Harvesting an animal part successfully is a matter of dexterirty and knowledge. An anatomist would need to make a successful Nature check to determine if anything they've found while prying the creature open is useful, and a succesful Survival check (DEX) to harvest the organs desired. These harvested organs or other pieces of the animal could then be used for food, crafting items, potions/poisons, and more!
Animal Identification
Through their research, an anatomist can learn to identify animals and their traits. This is useful for learning more about a creature in general, learning about its habitat, how it interracts with the environment, what its strengths and weaknesses are, whether or not it could be domesticated, and more!   As animals are identified (this includes animals, monsters, and other beasts, anything that could reasonably be dissected) they will be added to the "Discovered Animals and Monsters" document.   Information about an animal can be used in many situations, even combat! The knowledge can be accessed in a practical manner by the anatomist with a successful Survival check.

Dangers & Hazards

There are many hazards associated with the life of an anatomist. Prying open creatures to learn about their internal functions can lead to being poisoned, suffering from disease, being exposed to acids or other toxins, and even physical harm like being cut, gored, or even total reverse evisceration.
