Cups

"Cups" are a type of Spiritual Plant that can be found throughout The Gates, however, they are especially prevelant near bodies of water.   These plants are based around the "Cups" suit in a Tarot Deck.   The Cups Tarot cards largely deal with emotions (Love, feelings, relationships, connections) which may either be repressed or overly active, and it could be described as "thinking with ones heart rather than their head".   The Cups suit is heavily associated with "Water" which is fluid, agile, "in flow" which can also be formative and powerful. With this in mind, the emotions that are involved can either be gentle or forceful. The element of water is symbolic of fluidity, feelings and emotions, intuition, relationships, healing, and cleansing.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The flowers for each Cup is usually unique unlike Wands which are all catalpas. That being said, they are always flowers and, more often than not, rely on large amounts of water such as a river bank, marshes, lakes, and so on.

Dietary Needs and Habits

While the flowers that Cups utilize tend to prefer more water rich environments to survive, the Spirit involved does not actually utilize that much water if any.   Cups instead are feeding on the emotions that are being brought to the surface similar to Wands. These emotions were already within the individual and capable of manifesting on their own, though the Cups just provide some encouragement for the already existing emotion to surface or become more powerful.   They aren't doing this with any benevolent or malevolent goal in mind other than to survive. The emotions brought forth affect the nearby individuals for a time and the Cups simultaneously feed on those emotions.

Biological Cycle

The Cups flowers are capable of blooming at any point in the year, and their existance could be as short lived as a day or as long as several months. While the flower may wilt away, the spirit may still "live" on and simply manifest again later either in the same area or somewhere completely different.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Each Cup flower has different potentials for different people as they all affect emotions in different ways. They are mostly used to create infusions, teas, and aromatherapeutic items like incense, candles and the like.   If harvested and utilized properly, the emotion that was encouraged by the Cups flower could be preserved to be used at a later date.
