Moonleaf Tea

Moonleaf Tea is a type of plant found growing in the Forests of the The Gates. It is known for its ability to, when properly brewed, help someone look inwards to find themselves or any connections they may have to others. It was first discovered by the Hysteria on Nurend 14, 308 while the Spiritual Travelers were looking for Tympi. It was at the center of a Fairy Ring, and, thanks to a combination of Hysteria's Paranoia and knowledge of Fae, they were able to avoid upsetting the local Pixies while harvesting this plant.

Anatomy

Moonleaf Tea has an appearance that is almost indistinguishable from oridinary green tea leaves. This makes identifying it incredibly challenging unless by an experienced botanist. However, when encountered in the wild and fresh, still on the plant and in the ground, it is much easier to know when one has encountered Moonleaf Tea. This is because it is only visible fresh on the shrub while bathed in moonlight, hence the name.

Ecology and Habitats

Moonleaf Tea is exclusively found at night, in a clearing with moonlight, and at the center of a faerie circle. Faerie Circles/fairy rings/pixie rings are a colony of mushrooms that have naturally taken the shape of a ring. The moonleaf tea plant is cared for by woodland creatures like pixies and other fae. Harvesting the tea incorrectly, without care, or what have you may lead to these woodland creatures growing upset.

Moonleaf Tea is often used to brew a very special tea utilized in meditation. This tea requires the leaves to be harvested in a very special way, to be dried and processed with other ingredients provided by an apothecarist, to then be brewed with care by a skilled culinarian, and then, to complete the ritual, a skilled occultist would need to provide incense, essential oils and to perform the ritual. This ritual, if everything is done correctly, can help anyone that drinks the tea and meditates look inward. Strange visions may be revealed during this time, and one might even be able to discover any chords connecting them to other people.
