Nurend 13, 258: The Old Woman's Cottage
The rain pattered against the window near where I slept. As I stirred awake, lost and searching for some clue as to where I ended up... I saw the sun outside. Bright, cloudless, careless. She saw me despite the rain pouring around us.
I departed my solitude and recalled the hag that found me, saved me from my isolation, and gave me the warmth of her home so that I may sleep. The...foul smelling breakfast sizzled on her stove, casting a carnal need to feed into my mind, but my apetite recoiled at the mere notion of consuming whatever was on the menu.
"You'll be here for a bit. The rain won't let up for a few days. You stay. Get Warm. I feed. You get strength. Eat. Eat!"
Her speech was sharp, direct. Every phrase a command. No room for suggestions.
Despite this, and the smell, I ate greedily.
Recipe:
1. Catoblepas Milk
2. Adderhen Eggs
3. Spirit Salt, pepper
4. A seasoning she called "Spais" (pron. Space).
5. Catoblepas butter
She fried the eggs in butter with some "Spirit Salt" and pepper, spais, and she served it with a glass of sour, rancid smelling milk.
I suppose you can trust some hags...never gonna try that milk again though.
