Refracted Stalker

Refracted Stalkers are an animal that can be found throughout The Gates. They travel utilizing the Underground Tunnels and make their homes in them.
They are known for their ability to dig, climb trees, and their innate method of evading attacks by appearing be several feet away from where their body truly is. This is accomplished by the light refracting through the gemstones that make up their fur and skin.
This creature was first trackd by Kaswink during the Downtime between Nurend 06-12, 308. She later saw the tracks again on Nurend 14, 308 while the Spiritual Travelers were looking for Tympi. It was quickly dispatched with efforts from the entire group at which point Kaswink was able to skin and butcher it while Hysteria, Agave and Frode investigated a nearby kitten.
This Refracted Stalker Kitten would soon be named Squeaks and has been adopted by Frode.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Refracted Stalkers have the appearance of a large, 6 legged, cat-like creature with incredibly dark blue and glossy fur. Two long tentacle-like appendages stretch out behind it from its shoulders and run the length of its body and tail. A set of three small gems can be seen arranged at the ends of each of these tentacles, at its shoulder blades, its haunches, and at the center of its forehead. These gems could be of any number of different colors such as purple (amethyst), green (emerald), yellow (topaz), clear/white (crystal), red (ruby) and so on.
After skinning the creature it was revealed that the skin is incredibly durable though thin, and it is actually made up of incredibly tiny gems strung together with threads of flesh. Small amounts of light in the area are refracted through these gems making the skin look invisible.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Making a cloak or armor from the flesh would certainly be doable. This cloak could improve stealth, decrease the likelihood of being struck, and perhaps increase durability in general.

While fighting the creature, it was discovered that the gems on its body (at least for the amethyst one encountered) absorb electricity. Each strike from Kaswink's electrified club only made the gems on its body grow brighter as it shrugged off any damage of that type. This energy was eventually redirected into Frode, though they were able to resist whatever deadly effects.
There may be some way to utilize these larger gems to store and redirrect different elements, though more research and work will be required.
