Session 2: Completing the Ritual and Finding the Artifact!
General Summary
The group pressed on into the cavernous roots beneath this frozen and abandoned goblin city. Within these roots the creatures that they discovered began to attack! Agave and Namina both felt that the spirit of this tree seemed to be injured and that these creatures may be looking to cure the wounds inflicted upon it...but it was more than just the scar created by Kaswink's incursion, it was something far deeper.
Namina and Agave began a ritual to tap into this spirit and heal it. Over the course of several turns in combat their meditation eventually lead to them being able to both see the tree's aura, the path that they needed to take, and eventually the wounds that needed to be healed. The Aura that Namina saw was a combination of blues and greens that blended together and seemed to be getting "drained" by streaks of blackness emanating from "deep" within this spirit. Namina, recognizing that it was experiencing some sort of blockage, began curing this spirit with the help of Agave.
In the midst of this ritual, Namina was attacked from behind as these plant creatures seemed to pass straight through the root-like walls. This was possibly related to the other observation from the front-line that these creatures are all connected to these roots as they are all made of the same plant.
Meanwhile, Kaswink held the front line with her massive club, preventing further ingress by these creatures with the help of Frode and Dan.
Dan juggled for his life, distracting the creatures, drawing agro, and helping Kaswink and Frode survive while Kaswink defended and Frode toppled the creatures to a defenseless, prone position. Using this positioning to his advantage, Frode was also able to drive several of them off with sheer intimidation.
The ritual was eventually completed though and the creatures, ever growing in number, dispersed as the spirit spoke
After the anti-viral software left you all alone, you decided to press on down the path that Agave saw with his special ...path finding powers.
In the room at the end of the path you took was a small skeleton missing several pieces and a hole in its head. The remaining bones had strange circuit-like etching full of gold. Namina took these bones with great care and respect while Frode and Hysteria argued over the implications of grave robbing and agreed upon the smell of sticks.
Frode eventually threw the stick upon the ground and it was quickly picked up by Hysteria and carried out of the room as the screen froze, turned sepia, and credits began rolling while Roundabout played.
