Session 3: Entering the Gate and DAN's Secret!

General Summary

Expedition Camp
You all arrived back at the camp after another long airship journey full of rapport building and good times.   At camp the gate was nearly complete, however, the remaining ingredients and ritual still needed to be provided. Personal items were given from each of you along with the artifact found in the goblin village. A tea ceremony was also held and soon the gate began to open. It looked as though the world that was clearly visible behind the gate began to fold in on itself as light from another world poured forth. As the gate opened tea cups began to rise and personal items began to also float. Namina was able to see these spirits and interact with them. They seemed chill and enjoyed the tea.   Meanwhile, Kaswink was already heading for the gate, and, indeed, passed through as Namina conversed and the rest of you watched in amazement.
Where to go?
Shortly after the rest of you also passed through and you found yourselves standing in a rather strange room with 6 hallways branching out in every direction. You all felt compelled down each path, however, for each of you one path in particular did have a stronger pull. You discussed how best to proceed, the philosophical implications, the religious possibilities, and DAN revealed something unexpected about him...or rather, themselves.   You did also notice, as you moved, that the bricks within these walls are arranged in a very strange, almost random, intricate and overlapping pattern. As you moved through these halls the bricks moved as well, rearranging themselves with your own perspective. The orientation of the bricks was similar to gyrification or the way that a brain is folded.   Anyways, you all eventually decided to proceed down Namina's hall as it would be the "most spiritual" considering her background and her connection to spirits. Though, some further arguments were had as she also revealed that there are opposing forces at the heart of this maze and that each path will eventually lead them to the goal... with that in mind, I think the party also wanted to go down DAN's path due to the voice that they could hear calling after them.
DAN
The path you went down, being DAN's, did show Namina a peculiar orange aura suggesting lessons being learned the hard way. This hallway, as soon as you stepped into it, extended behind you just as long as it was extended in front of you with a reflection of the direction you were heading now also where you came from.   The first room that was encountered offered a great deal of wealth and a lovely tequila bottle. A sign on the doorway also read "donations are appreciated". You all decided to give a penny rather than take a penny and the wealth trap was ignored.
Further down this hallway the voice that DAN heard was now heard by all...and to DAN it sounded like deafening screams of agony. You soon found yourselves near another door, partially closed, with only the edge of a desk, the edge of a chair, and the edge of a person visible. Peering into the room this person-edge was soon revealed to be attached to a whole-ass person and that person was familiar to DAN. Getting closer to this halfling seemed to cause them to lengthen, arms and legs twisting around invisible poles while the neck eventually did the same. The closer you got the more twisted they became as the torso also began to spiral in on itself. DAN backed away hoping to not hurt this person further, but Namina hoped to get some answers and went around to the front of the halfling to hopefully meditate and communicate spiritually.   Namina learned that this person is unresponsive for the most part. Only able to barely convey that they are trapped, lost, confused, scared...and the repeating phrase of "help" over and over, each time louder in her mind. She also learned that this twisting abomination is only a projection, and with that in mind it was left in this room alone as you left hoping to return to the hallway you had been in previously...and you were, sort of, the walls looked identical, however rather than the infinitely stretching hallway you now saw two doorways nearby.
Kaswink
One of these doorways was covered in chains, with multiple locks that had blood dripping from the keyholes.   The other doorway was wide open, no obstruction, but the hallways beyond were covered in thorny vines with corpses of fallen humanoid creatures being wrapped up in the bramble. Investigating these bodies lead the party to realize they were not killed by the plants but rather bludgeoned to death...and that they were also partially eaten by something.   The other door's locks were also broken/picked and another path was revealed with chains wrapping around the walls and more of the thick, deep red liquid running down the sides of the floor like a pair of super-edgy canals.
The party decided to go down the corpse hall instead of the chain hall. This was decided due to Kaswink feeling a connection to both, and Agave feeling a slight connection to the path with vines and corpses
