Mapvember 2022

- Amelia Buzatch?
I stare at the faded signature, wiping out the dust lingering on the dull cover. I try to remember the name Amelia Buzatch, isn't that the greatest explorer ever people usually told each other? So this thing might be her work then.   Adjust my creaking chair and take a quick skim, it has a faint and messy blue ink with uhm, not so good handwriting...   Degraded, shabby, torn, fallen out. They're words that I used to describe the pages of this journal. Some can't even able to read.   "Why does it fall on my rooftop?" Seriously I can't explain that! Did Amelia just fly over my house, or does some bird steal her documents and dropped it here? But what thing impossible to explain should left unexplained, if she comes to my house, just give it back and ask for an autograph and done. Now, a little bit of peeping shouldn't make any harm. I heedlessly rearrange the pages and start to read what could read...

Address: Amber district, Wolfberth city, Lodgard.

Strange enough, the author or someone had used Abiding Spell on this page, yet half of it still had been torn apart. Only one sentence: "A looking for True Knowledge of..." is still visible.

I. Crater

Uhmbrijar crater, I heard the Varisnian told legends about it up to the point I remember them like a child remembering these feigning fairytales. At least they're not boring ya.
⋖--------------------⋗
Uhmbrijar Rina - or Starfire Hole in ancient Garisian, is an artificial volcanic crater lay in the northwest of Varisana, 25iu from Myrida city and 34iu from the Onn river. Depth is about 200m below the sea level and must be at least 1.5iu in size. This volcano is still working to this day, bursting hot lava and emitting smoke columns equal to 7 houses.
Said this hole is artificial wasn't a hoax to trick kids, of course silly, humans can't make these. Back then when the Primordials still have some "internal family heat", Totokkivios and Maviros had the fiercest enemyship above all. So this crater is a clear result of one in many of their fights, perhaps the biggest yet. Hem, I'm not a woman of myths and tales, so for the full story I will let you hear by yourself.

II. Cavern + XVIII. Mine

Venturing down this hellhole is such a noteworthy experiences! Those Swigrifthes are way more hostile than normal, I even captured one for my next research. My my you need to see how cute this sweetheart is!
⋖--------------------⋗
Eiris is a limestone cave in Chivastein, Anagale. Its entrance only as high as 4 adult men but definitely very deep. From my calculations, Eiris cave until now is 102km in length. The cave is well-known not for being the biggest underground complex, nor bewitched by a wizard or anything, but because it's a huge goldfield - the average of gold found here is 4kg/trip, where they're mostly mined from the depth of 60km. I even found 3di when exploring down here! (these Swigrifthes are still more valuable)
But all treasure tend to be protected, Eiris cave is also home of hundred of Swigrifth: a giant blood-sucking predator. That's why despite the shiny gold laying down there, not many men were brave enough to come and find it. Such a waste, you just need a little bit of fire and these winged creature will flee away...

VI. Anchor

I must admit, this forest is ethereal, how does such an interesting place like this is existing on earth? Also if you don't know, stuff some rocks inside this plant and you will have an effective tool to assassinate someone! (Don't ask me how I know that ya)
⋖--------------------⋗
Balloonet is a native plant of Ferdenheii and Bugnoldring. As its name said, the plant is like a balloon - its body is filled with a mixture of Roh Senide, Borom, Yirni, steam, a small number of Sulferic Senide and other gases which help them float up to catch the most sunlight possible, while anchoring down by a rope of twisting roots dig deep into the ground.
Yes, you can plant Balloonet anywhere, but they're won't float high or will have a short lifespan. These plants need fertile volcanic soil and gases, that's why Balloonet only thrives in a volcanic continent like Corial'gal. 22iu from Rust Metal volcano, there is a famous forest of Balloonet called the Floating Wood. Natives said this forest is very sacred because it's a lock between hell and mortals' realm - as these Balloonets lift up the ground, prevent the land to collapse and release destruction to our world.

VII. Sea + VIII. Island

Ah, the Dark Sea, still the same - stormy, rainy, and greeting its guest with hordes of filthy monsters.
This is the sixth expedition in the Dark Sea, the goal this time is to try to pinpoint the coordinates of the Hidden Island or at least, localize its potential locations.
⋖--------------------⋗
The Hidden Island is a famous myth, but have enough evidence to prove its existence. Lies somewhere in the center of the Dark Sea, witnesses said that it appears as a large oceanic island, some also stated that the island itself looks like it had been raised from the water by a mysterious force. Yet none of those pieces of information is confirmed to be true.
⋖--------------------⋗
Day 7 - 13/7: No progress on the Hidden Island location. Tarleton is hallucinating about a pale women for 3 hours now.
Day 12 - 18/7: No progress. Stormy weather and high waves.
Day 17 - 23/7: We encountered the Serpent, our boat was severely leaking. But we manage to beat off the beast right on time. No progress on the Hidden Island, although we do found many small islands.
Day 19 - 25/7: Entering the Mistzone to come back. One member has been severely injured.
After this a good sleep is my next goal...
P/S: The writings with different ink are the major events in this journey. Because Mellanios tried to be a bislar, my journals about this expedition are all wet so I had to wrote it again.   II P/S: I just got struck by a lightning bolt out of nowhere. Don't worry, this Amelia's fine.

XVI. Dragon + XX. Egg

If you ever come to Bastorio, Cieloia. Remember to put the Dragon Market Meru on your bucket list! I always dreamed about visiting this place when I was young - it's chaotic, vibrance and so hectic.
⋖--------------------⋗
No, not that type of market where they put these scaled reptiles into an iron cage as merchandise. When I said Dragon Market, I mean an actual market for dragons. Settle in the Castor district, this place was a meeting location for dragon tamers and dragonborn. Until growing into a market where people bring their fire-breathing pets to show off and help them sell various goods.
This place was never dull, as the savory smell of food, the sound of trumpets and roars, and the sunlight of May hitting your skin. All are like a fever dream of your childhood~ a perfect destination after an adventure in the Dark Sea. Oh, and they're holding an auction for a golden egg of the legendary Ferlisk dragon this afternoon. Which is I would love to join, but already spent all the gold for artifacts and those delicious skewers (didn't regret ya).

XXV. Pool

Past the barren waste of the Southeast Vigozar and you will find Vienmum Hot Springs, an exotic natural wonder. Hundred of craters emerge from the earth, creating pools of vibrant water in various shapes and sizes.
⋖--------------------⋗
As fantastical as it sounds, the strange nature of these pools can be proven by science (actually, not all). Long ago when humans didn't even have a title in the Goble Realm's history, a rain of meteorites fall to this place after Maviros destroyed an unknown asteroid. Plus, the hot groundwater lifts the soil and bursts out as geysers, forming pools of steaming water we see today.
But what about the color of the water? Very easily, they found species of microorganisms called Nauiosis - these microorganisms exist in boiling water up to 156ºF, discharge mineral compounds that could change water's color and taste.
Nowadays, people open natural hot springs from the pools, welcoming stopover travelers and wanderers to take a bath. Native Vigozars once worshipped these pools in the belief that they were bathtubs of gods so their water also has sacred powers, which are used for healing and purification, hence its name (Vienmum means "Sacred Baths" in Korogy).
