Karen Simpson

In most respects, Karen strikes you as a typical upper middle class housewife.....with all the good and bad that comes along with that.
Karen has been living on the Ranch since nearly the beginning.  In those months she has very much thrown herself into her work in the infirmary.  It's been a busy job, and the busy hands have kept her mind off her grief.  Many of you have had wounds tended by Karen, and she's clearly a talented professional.  Some of you have noticed that occasionally, signs of her distaste for Doc Knighten bubble through that quiet professionalism

She spends her free time with her children for the most part.  She has been developing a close relationship with Tammy Sorrels since her husband Tommy was lost in the fight against the Army mutineers.  Both of them recently widowed, their friendship seems to be growing stronger as they find strength with each other.  They've come to love each others children a great deal, and when grief overcomes the one unexpectedly, the other steps in along with the ever-present Crissy to keep an eye on them.
