Azrael was born in Vigil, Lastwall. Immediately on birth he was different being recognized as an Aasimar. Being in a holy city he was quickly identifed as having the blood of a Solar in his family line. He was quickly inducted into the Knights of Ozem where a Deva assumed protection and oversaw the training of Azrael. One day after years of serving the Knights he awoke from his sleep after having a vision of a giant angel fighting infernal creatures with an army of crusaders. He asked his Deva protector who told him of a mysterious sect of Ragethiels followers known as the Crimson Crusaders. Azrael expressed his interest in this group and set out to find this order of templars after conferring with the leadership of his current order. Upon finding the location of the Crimson Keep he found a rundown shell of an order with few members. He quickly assumed leadership and rose the order from ruins into a respectable order once more.
