Outline:
- Rosalind & Mathild don't go riding that afternoon, or the next, or the next
- Roland orders their mares, paper, pens, and books taken away
- Can work on music and needlepoint
- Rosalind tells Abigale she will not do either
- Rosalind and Mathild have breakfast
- Two soldiers come to take Jolly
- Rosalind grabs her bow and arrows to shoo away the soldiers
- Rosalind chases soldiers to great hall
- They get reinforcements
- Rosalind succeeds in nipping one soldier in the ear, removing at least three fingertips, and impaling two left feet.
- The soldiers retreat
- Rosalind notes a mess of trays and food and feels bad because of the servants
