The Puc-Puc Tree of the Shadow Woodlands
These trees are large with a thick scaly like trunk and thick branches and large, bell shaped leaves that turn to fill with water when it rains.
They can be found only in the Shadow Woodlands, but they are still known by most Ludovian residents, with some trees able to be found in the courtyards of Ludo's abbeys and cloisters.
Many miniature, bonsai like versions also exist in homes across Ludo and the world.
The leaves of the Puc-Puc tree are eaten by several animals and insects across the Shadow Woodlands. While the leaves are edible and do have a distinct peppery taste, they are not very tasty to humans and can cause intestinal duress if eaten in large quantities. Though, they can be eaten in a pinch in order to stave off starvation.
The unique shape of the trunk and leaves helps filter rain water to leave it clear, clean, and fresh tasting. Sometimes the water will have a peppery or smoky aftertaste, but that is only if the water has been left in the leaf for a long time.
Water can be stored in the many leaves and drank days, even weeks, after rainfall, and collect dew perfectly, giving and storing water for all creatures in the Shadow Woodlands.

The Golden Apple and the Puc-Puc Tree
There has been no connection written or known between the magic of the Golden Apple and the puc-puc tree. While the tree does have a curiously shaped limbs and large, bell shaped leaves, that does not mean that it wasn't nourished by the same magic that nurtured and grew the first golden apples.
Currently, there is no plans by the de Barro clan or Allan Hobson to look further into the tree than necessary.
The Shadow Woodlands and the Puc-Puc Tree
Puc-Puc trees can be found across the entire expanse of the Shadow Woodlands. While the trunks and many of the branches reach high in order to reach the sunlight from the high canopy, the leaves hang low and heavy especially when collecting water.
Many animals and creatures in the Shadow Woodlands depend on the puc-puc leaves for water and sustenance.
This is a sturdy tree with thick roots that dig shallowly, but across vast sections under the earth.
Nicely done! I love how it stores the water and keeps it fresh.
Thank you, Deleyna! :)
