Farmer Baron
A minor nobility position that deals with growing the many crops that feed the Golden Empires people and industry.
Requirements
Control of large pieces of land and wealth determines who is considered a Farmer Baron.
Appointment
When a wealthy land owner makes a name for themselves, they are subsumed into the lower nobility. A governor for a county then officially recognizes them as a noble.
Responsibilities
Owns, manages, leases, and oversees lands used for various types of agriculture.
History
Farmer Barons have functionally been around ever since the large towns of the Civil Trade Union needed more organized agriculture to feed their populations. The title of Farmer Baron arose during the food shortages of 475 AU, when wealthier citizens started taking large plots of land to develop for farming. The claiming of land is a first-come-first-serve ordeal, and much fighting took place for the control of the most fertile lands. To this day mercenary groups are hired to harass workers and steal land from other Farmer Barons.
