Jerkoor and the Orb of Storms

The tale of a barbarian named Jerkoor and his discovery of the Orb of Storms.

Summary

Jerkoor was a barbarian from the clan of the Peak Men. Like many of his clan, he departed after reaching adulthood to find a grand story to bring home to his people. Traveling across Andricum, he eventually learned of a great storm that had been raging near the Cormian Isles. Seemingly unending, the storm ravaged the area around a specific island in the southwest of the Isles.
Wanting to witness the storm firsthand, he took a ship from Pearport to the Cormian Isles. The trip from the capitol city of the Blue Ring to the isle in question was long and fraught with danger, requiring treks across jungle-covered cliffs and battle with minotaurs and snake men. Making it to the isle, he learned from it's inhabitants that the storm was actually created by a great sea serpent, and as long as he lived the storm would continue. Wishing to help the halfling village, he joined them on an expedition to the center of the storm, where they did battle with the serpent. The battle was intense and lasted a full day. In the end, all the halflings and the serpent lay dead, Jerkoor the only survivor. From the serpents maw emerged a small orb, containing black clouds and lightning. Seeing it as an artifact worthy to bring home, he took the battered ship and sailed it back to the capitol. From there he returned to Andricum and made his way back to Peak mountain. Upon the telling of his tale, he was honored and the orb given a special place within the Hall of Legends.

In Art

A great mural was painted across multiple scrolls by the recorders in Coterie Peak. It depicts the fierce battle between the halflings and Jerkoor against the serpent.
