A ship from the east returns, Pike's Bay founded

A ship returns from the east, confirming the success of the Poleis' journey.

A small ship arrives in Pearport and the crew confirms that Poleis reached a new continent. They share the story of how they managed to cross the current and the difficulties of life in the new world.   During the Poleis' journey, they made headway into the current. after about a year of travel into the current, a large storm hit the ship. The ship weathers the storm well for a few days, but then large waves begin battering its stern. Many crew members are washed overboard, and out of desperation a passenger moves to the front of the ship. This passenger was a druid from Cors Swamp, and tried to use his magic to manipulate the water. To his surprise, his spell worked and he was able to stop the waves. Not only that, the spell partially negated the current around the ship.   The captain of the ship, a man named Pike, observed this and formulated an idea. He went below decks and asked anyone with magical or druidic training to come to the deck. He was met with silence, and so explained his plan. Thinking that the current and storm were in fact magically created, we wanted anyone who could use spells to alter local weather and manipulate water to assist the druid in guiding the ship to safety. Several wizards from the Magisterium and a druid from the Western Goldflow volunteered, and Pike's plan was put into action.   With the help of additional magic users, the Cors druid was able to lead them in defeating the dangerous conditions, and after several exhausting hours the ship made it through the current. For another month the ship sailed on until it found the shore of another landmass. The passengers and crew disembark, finding a beautiful land full of resources. A settlement is constructed, but problems quickly arise.    Despite the land providing everything they needed to thrive (fish in the ocean, arable land, plenty of lumber), it was a realm full of danger. The hills and cliffs contained giants, and the plains were full of ogres and a mysterious race of elusive, small green humanoids. What's more, massive never before seen creatures roamed the land, some keeping to themselves but others being hyper-aggressive carnivores. It took nearly 30 years for the settlement to establish itself enough to build a new ship for the return journey.   The news is seen as a massive victory, as the food shortage was now continent wide. The emperor himself came to meet the return crew, and appointed Captain Pike to the position of Admiral for his efforts. He commissioned Pike to direct a military fleet through the current, and declared that the new settlement be named Pike's Bay in his honor.
