Dunwich Infantry Military Formation in The Great Dust Bowl | World Anvil

Dunwich Infantry

Although Gerson Ashcroft's army began in Anchorage, many of the pre-war ghouls that still wear the old military uniforms joined him on his journey into the Dust Bowl. They lack the physical numbers to deploy region-wide but serve as the backbone for all ground forces in the The Dunwich Society. With experience in war for over two centuries, even a handful of units can change the tide of a battle if utilized properly.

Usually found in companies across the region, they have recently been called to gather at Moletown. The standard militia made up of mercenaries and free lancers are not trusted with such a sensitive operation, and the Society wants to be sure absolutely no information leaves the area. Given orders to lock down the area, they respond to anyone foolish or unlucky enough to wander past their perimeter with overwhelming lethal force.

Although these unit have certainly evolved since the Great War; they still follow core military values and teachings. High physical and mental standards are held for its members and harsh punishments are given for breaking the chain of command. These conditions have kept attrition at bay over the long years, with fewer than one percent of these warriors going feral since the war. Recognizing this contributed greatly to research into the necrotic post-human condition, as all soldiers were well hydrated and kept mentally active across the board.
