The Ascendants

As the oral history is told, this group was originally formed from surviving native American tribes from across the midwest. They came together in the faith that the world would once again belong to a natural order that they will be the caretakers of. Despite radically different belief structures, they all belong to the principles of sustaining life and living in symbiosis with it.

Although they make tools, they use methods that do not require any kind of industrialization. The Ascendants spend their lives learning to tame animals, plant crops, and make homes out of what is readily available. When faced with conflict, they do not use any form of traditional weapons, instead relying on several deterrents.

Those that have given them reason to worry report being attacked by swarms of insects that appeared out of baskets the mutants were carrying. Cluster migraines and other temporary yet severe physical traumas are also common, however it has yet to be determined if this is caused by bug bites. They are also known to travel with exotic pets, such as deathclaws and mirelurks, who are not so slow to violence. A loose understanding of personal property has added to these conflicts, leading the locals to characterize them simply as a nuisance and little more.
