Vault 113

Built in secret as a sister-site to Vault 80, it was intended for the stockpile of natural resources accrued during their internment underground to be brought here for processing once radiation dropped to safe levels. Constructed around a dormant Volcano, the discovery of this natural wonder was also covertly hidden from the American people to avoid leaks to the Chinese government. Unlike with Vault 80, their communications remained intact and they were not only able to monitor broadcasts outside, but communicate with pre-war elements that had access to the encrypted channels.
Contacted by a group claiming to be the remnants of the pre-war government, the immediate cooperation given by the Overseer at the time would end up dooming the citizens he was charged to protect. What at first seemed like a friendly occupation quickly turned hostile as the members of the Enclave strike team showed their true colors once they had made it past the security. Revolting against these imposters and rejecting their extremist views, a fight broke out that ended with many fleeing into the wasteland with anything they could carry.
To the dismay of their captors, one of these objects turned out to be the one thing they came to collect. Furious that they would have to report this failure back to their superiors, these power-armor clad brutes took out their aggression on the survivors too old, weak, or sentimental to flee their home. Even with fresh reinforcements and change of leadership, by the time the hunt begins in earnest, the survivors of Vault 113 are long gone..
