Vault 188
While scavenging the sands for a fresh bed of resources, the Crawler stumbled upon a radio broadcast recorded by Vault Tec before the war. It was a distress beacon requesting aid for a nearby Vault, one that had yet to be discovered at the time. When they arrived they found it uninhabited but only recently, with several half-eaten meals left out that had yet to begin any form of decomposition.
Upon some digging, most terminals were wiped clean with little recoverable data if any. Not everything had been destroyed, and some hard copy documents and holotape recording seemed to point to a series of strange experiments. Rumors began to spread of clairvoyants and psychic warriors that could ‘think’ enemies to death. The First Citizens Council quickly put a stop to the gossip however, and finished what the former dwellers had started and destroyed the remaining evidence.
Without anyone to contest the resources, the Vault was salvaged by the Crawler with business as usual. Whoever the occupants were, they were long gone and not coming back. A miscalculation was made while excavating that ended up breaching the water reservoir and flooding the excavation site. The land is now unstable and has become an impassable marsh, sinkholes pulling the surface under indiscriminately.
