WorldEmber 2023 Homework

This will be my 2nd WorldEmber that I have participated in and I plan to reaalllyy give it a go this time. Im going to give myself a possibly unreasonable goal of 50,000 words. Im always making notes of different ideas but it just turns into a list that never gets written. This year were changing that. No more just bouncing ideas off my 2 year old who thinks its all amazing. Time to write.

Week 1: Area of Focus

There are alot of areas that need to be further expanded on but im going to continue working on things that I started on during Summer Camp 2023.

Gods and History:

• I have been reworking the history of my world and how that has set history in motion.
• When I started my world I had only 4 or 5 gods that I came up with, now I have around 25. Is that too many? No idea.

Minor Houses & Factions within Nations:

• My Major nations have been established (For the most part) and now I want to expand on the intricacies of each of them.

Lands and Regions

• Lands and regions can always be worked on as I better fill out my map (Which has be overhauled, didnt like the feel of the old one so i leteraly turned it and it feels better on the eyes i believe).

Magic?

• Ive always liked the more elemential style of magic but Im not too sure how much I want magic to be a part of my world. Obviously its there but im not too sure how I want to expand on it yet.

Inspiration

At first I didnt really follow or read much of other people worlds but I have found that reading others peoples world have helped my look at my own work in different ways. While a few things have inspired me I have found that seeing how other people approach similar aspects has influenced how I do the same.

Week 3: Review my homepage

Ive taken a good look at my home page and It felt like all the important info was there to understand the world. While I may think this, when looking back i realized that there is no real place to start. I have a small bit giving a sort of overall idea what happening but thats it. Im going to rework my home page and try to give it a starting point. Having all the nations and places on there is good but where to begin. Im going to spend some time reowrking it along with some other things.

Week 4: Last Minute Prep

My last minute prep has consisted of making a sort of list on everything that I want to write about and how everything ties in together with the world as I try to reestablish some of the basics. Im reworking hisory and gods so I need to go back and alter some established things. Alot of things are getting renamed as I reread and feel like they dont mesh well together.
