Artists Quarter

This section of the City of Glaion is home to many of the artists in the Capitol. A stroll down the paint stained cobbles will allow the travelers a wonderful view and experience of what the artisans have to offer. Whether it be a song being sung from the balcony on the dwellings or a soft instrumental from dim hallways of the buildings. Or the Beautiful tiled mosaics built into the fountains at every corner, or the intricately carved stone on every surface.   The Baron of the City fosters a strong idea that the Artists Quarter be untouched by regulation for presentation of the City. He believes that this one place may be what it will, and thus has one of the most diverse array of people living there. They are allowed to paint, redecorate and remodel any building they live in. The only stipulation to this rule is that the buildings may not be so heavily changed that they become unstable, and do have engineers inspecting the various columns, buttresses, balconies and archways regularly. Though this is not seen as a terrible thing by the inhabitants if something needs to be replaced, for a blank canvas is a beautiful thing indeed.   The Artists Quarter is one of the most heavily frequented destinations in the city for its vibrancy and spectacle. It is also home to the Gables Great Barroom, and a number of amphitheaters and play houses. You can't walk down the street without hearing music, seeing someone paint or sculpt, or hearing some verse.

Architecture

A vast array of Neogothic, Classical, Greek and Roman. Mixed intermittently with Eastern and Old world influences. Common materials for the buildings are Gneiss and Marble. The cobblestone is typically a heathy dose of painted sandstone and red granite. Most of the wood used for construction in the area is cedar, mahogany, and oak.
